About Madison Institute of Healthcare

Institutional Philosophy:

The philosophy of MIHC is based on the belief that people can be trained in a relatively short period of time to enter the world of professional healthcare careers. We also believe that the amount of on the job experience, not classroom hours, is the best teacher. Therefore, it is our purpose to equip each student with the basic skills necessary to enter the workplace and begin to gather experience. We also feel that our many years in the various healthcare professions not only qualifies us to teach these skills, but also gives us the opportunity to impart what "golden nuggets" we have discovered along the way.

History:

These courses of study came into being as a result of conversations between dentists, physicians and healthcare providers. Every dentist recognizes the importance of a good dental assistant in helping him/her provide the best care to his/her patients. A trained dental assistant reduces stress on both the patient and doctor, and keeps the practice growing and profitable. Given the shortage of trained dental assistants, the existing obstacles for a person to go to school for training and the unwillingness of dentists to train someone "from scratch" Madison Institute of Healthcare Careers School came into being. While the basic framework for this curriculum is patterned after successful dental assisting programs in other states, MIHC is truly unique and a standard by which other schools will be measured. Our programs have expanded to include phlebotomy, EKG, pharmacy, Dental Assisting, and CPR certification as we continue to provide the community the needed healthcare professionals that are in big demand.
